Am I supposed to be afraid?
Do you wish you sensed fear?
When I walk pass, or when I’m close and near
Am I supposed to be scared or intimidated?
Is my heart supposed to race?
Am I supposed to become frightened by your walking pace?
Is my blood pressure supposed to rise…
Over the limits and over the charts
Tell me… is there supposed to be fear in my heart?
As the sun sets or the sky turns blue,
Am I supposed to disregard revealing what’s true?
Am I supposed to be afraid every time you give me a certain look?
Or every time you take something from me,
Or remind me of what you took
If that’s what you think then I’m sorry you’re wrong
I never possessed any fear, and if I did it’s gone

My Poetry
Poetry
It’s my own spoken word
Of things I know, think, or heard
It’s my expressions and feelings that I write
So people can relate and understand
It’s the powerful message I reveal
From the pen within my hand
It’s my feelings of love and hate
Or my feelings of happiness and rage
Or my thoughts of rights and wrongs
That shows on each page
Each page that I feel with words
And thoughts from within my mind
My poetry
It’s so rare, so one of a kind
Poetry… it’s who I am
If I didn’t have it who would I be
Poetry is a part of my soulWithout it I wouldn’t be me
It’s my own spoken word
Of things I know, think, or heard
It’s my expressions and feelings that I write
So people can relate and understand
It’s the powerful message I reveal
From the pen within my hand
It’s my feelings of love and hate
Or my feelings of happiness and rage
Or my thoughts of rights and wrongs
That shows on each page
Each page that I feel with words
And thoughts from within my mind
My poetry
It’s so rare, so one of a kind
Poetry… it’s who I am
If I didn’t have it who would I be
Poetry is a part of my soulWithout it I wouldn’t be me
